I wanted to talk to you guys about authenticity and why it’s so important.
Let’s talk about figuring out who you are in terms of your business.
It’s really important that you are embodying your brand personality. That is a key tenet of showing up and having a really consistent brand presence. It’s effective in attracting your ideal clients.
The problem for most of us is that we’re not really sure what our brand personality is. We haven’t:
done the work to figure out who we want to show up as.
dug deep into the person that we want to serve.
Those two things are really important to connect.
Figuring Out Who We Are
How do we want to show up? What is our brand personality? We need to sit down and contemplate this because once we do that, we can figure out how to communicate that to the people that we want to work with. We’ll know who we’re drawn to work with because we understand who our personality is, and how that interacts with our ideal clients. It’s really important that you figure out what your brand personality is. This takes time. It takes sitting down, figuring out who you are as a person, and how you actually want to express that to the world via your brand presence. This includes your website, your social media posts, e.t.c.
Now, authenticity is key. I obviously am a huge believer of being authentically YOU. We have to remember though, that we want to be ourselves in our most high-vibe, happy, professional sense. In order to figure out what those adjectives look like for us, we have a bit of work to do. First we have to define them for ourselves, then we should think about how we embodying that.
We’ll have to think about the things that we say and do, because ultimately our brand personality is a reflection of our own personality. Oftentimes, it’s a more polished, professional and best version of ourselves so that our ideal clients will be attracted to that version of who we are.
You obviously don’t want to be showing up when you’re kind of low-vibe, not having a great day, and not really feeling like yourself. While we’re all entitled to that, and sometimes we do have to share that vulnerability, it is really about saying who we are overall. It’s about how others are looking at who we are as a person, and how we’re showing up.
Finding Your Brand Adjectives
I’ve done a couple exercises about kind defining your brand voice in three words, and then taking those three words and coming up with three more words to really define it. Just doing a deep dive on that. That’s one of the exercises that you can do to really figure out what your brand personality is. You will get a lot of information about what your brand actually is and how you’re going to show up in that way.
Creating Content to Align with Brand Voice
If you haven’t figured out who you are first, and what your personality is, and how you are going to actually embody that in a more theoretical sense, it’s gonna be much harder when you are sitting down and creating your content or being really visible and showing up online if you’re not really sure how you want that to look like.
